If you have ever wondered: “What about the SMP process?” this is the perfect post for you!
SMP: The best option to hide thinning hair and baldness
Various scalp micropigmentation procedures offer miraculous solutions for men and women combatting hair loss. However, numerous treatments are excessively costly, ineffective, and unreliable. Scalp micropigmentation avoids invasive methods, wigs, or chemicals, offering an advanced cosmetic solution replicating natural hair follicles.
SMP Process
First impression is THE best impression
The first step in the SMP – Scalp Micropigmentation process is consultation.
Meeting with each client during an initial consultation to review every option is key and determine what style of treatment might work best. During this time, we will answer any questions the customer might have about the specific process, and we also get to know the client better, so we have an accurate understanding of what is hoping to achieve with the treatment.
Ready, set, go!
Once we know precisely what the client wants and needs, we can begin the procedure. The first process is usually about 3-4 hours long, and the primary objective is to create a solid foundation for the new look. The next step involves selecting the pigment color. The scalp micropigmentation practitioner analyzes the client’s follicle color and skin tone to choose the initial pigment, which is always a few shades lighter in the first session. This allows for a perfect match in the second session. However, as follicles vary in shade, using different shades enhances the illusion of a perfectly shaved head.
Taking care measures
The Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) process is completed with good aftercare.
After the procedure, we ask the client to avoid excessive sweating and direct sunlight on their scalps for at least four days. We recommend the client wait at least a week before returning for a second process. This ensures that enough time has passed for the ink to settle, and it helps us and the client identify any areas of the scalp that need to be revisited.
The second process usually requires less time, and we will finalize the treatment by filling in minor details to bring the scalp micropigmentation to life. At this point, the process is complete. If the client wishes to go even darker, a third process can be scheduled, but this usually isn’t necessary.
